RA8889 Brief Description:

A Micro GPU from RAIO, designed specifically for embedded HMI applications. Paired with a basic MCU sending commands, it can drive mainstream TFT color displays at 1366×768, 1280×800, 1024×768, and other resolutions. The chip features built-in 128Mb SDRAM and integrates 2D BTE graphics acceleration with hardware JPEG/AVI decoding, placing zero burden on the MCU for display rendering.

(1) Host Interface

• Supports 8080/6800 8/16-bit asynchronous parallel interface
• Provides Xnwait signal for extended MPU cycles for handshaking
• Supports serial host interface, e.g., IIC, 3/4-wire SPI
• Supports mirror and rotation functions for image data writing

(2) Input Display Data Format

• 1bpp: Monochrome (1-bit/pixel)
• 8bpp: RGB 3:3:2 (1-byte/pixel)
• 16bpp: RGB 5:6:5 (2-byte/pixel)
• 24bpp: RGB 8:8:8 (3-byte/pixel or 4-byte/pixel)
  Index 2:6 (64 indexed colors/pixel with transparency attribute)

(3) Display Mode

• User can set 24/18/16-bit TFT display output mode
• Supports screen resolution up to 1366x2048 pixels (Note: Actual panel resolution depends on pixel clock and color depth)

(4) Graphics Processing Functions

• Hardware decoding: Automatically recognizes JPEG, BMP and AVI formats; supports JPEG baseline profile, YUV444, YUV422, YUV420, YUV400 (does not support restart interval format)
• Picture-in-picture (PIP): Supports two PIP windows
• Flip display: Horizontal/vertical flip display function only applies to display, does not affect read/write of other functional blocks
• Geometric drawing: Supports drawing points, lines, curves, circles, ellipses, triangles, rectangles, rounded rectangles
• Block Transfer (BTE): Copy data with raster operations and color expansion, blend transparency, solid color extraction, graphic blend transparency, pixel blend transparency

(5) Text Functions

• Built-in ISO/IEC 8859-1/2/4/5. 12x24
• Supports Jietong serial font ROM
• Supports vertical and horizontal font magnification 2~4 times
• Supports text rotation by 90 degrees

• Supports copying data from external serial flash to frame buffer
• Supports external flash Single/Dual/Quad mode

• Supports 5x5 keyboard (multiplexed with GPIO pins)
• Scan cycle programmable
• Supports long press and repeat keys
• Supports pressing two or three keys simultaneously
