RA6809 Brief Description:

RA6809 is a streamlined version of RA8889. Its MCU interface omits the parallel interface and I2C functionality, retaining only the SPI-3 and SPI-4 interfaces. Other features are basically the same as those of RA8889.

RA8889 Hardware Architecture:

RA6809 Main Features:

(1) Host Interface

  • Supports serial host interface 3/4-wire SPI

(2) Input Display Data Format

  • 1bpp: Monochrome (1-bit/pixel)
  • 8bpp: RGB 3:3:2 (1-byte/pixel)
  • 16bpp: RGB 5:6:5 (2-byte/pixel)
  • 24bpp: RGB 8:8:8 (3-byte/pixel or 4-byte/pixel)
    Index 2:6 (64 indexed colors/pixel with transparency attribute)
    αRGB 4:4:4:4 (4096 indexed colors/pixel with transparency attribute)
    αRGB 8:8:8:8 (8-bit alpha, 24bpp color depth)

(3) Display Mode

  • User can set 24/18/16-bit TFT display output mode
  • Supports screen resolution up to 1366*x pixels (Note: Actual panel resolution depends on pixel clock and color depth)

(4) Graphics Processing Functions

  • Hardware decoding: Automatically recognizes JPEG, BMP and AVI formats; supports JPEG baseline profile, YUV444, YUV422, YUV420, YUV400 (does not support restart interval format)
  • Picture-in-picture (PIP): Supports two PIP windows
  • Flip display: Horizontal/vertical flip display function only applies to display, does not affect read/write of other functional blocks
  • Geometric drawing: Supports drawing points, lines, curves, circles, ellipses, triangles, rectangles, rounded rectangles
  • Block Transfer (BTE): Copy data with raster operations and color expansion, blend transparency, solid color extraction, graphic blend transparency, pixel blend transparency

(5) Text Functions

  • Built-in ISO/IEC 8859-1/2/4/5. 12x24
  • Supports Jietong serial font ROM
  • Supports vertical and horizontal font magnification 2~4 times
  • Supports text rotation by 90 degrees

(6) DMA Function

  • Supports copying data from external serial flash to frame buffer
  • Supports external flash Single/Dual/Quad mode

(7) PWM and Timer

  • Built-in two 16-bit counters
  • One 8-bit prescaler and one 4-bit frequency divider
  • Output waveform duty cycle is programmable
  • Auto-reload mode or one-shot mode
